laurenLauren Hodgson

Myotherapist

Lauren has been working as a Myotherapist on the Mornington Peninsula for the past 5 years. Lauren’s experience has been with working along side physiotherapists, Pilates instructors, exercise physiologists, podiatrists and sports physicians in a multidisciplinary setting.

Lauren has over 20 years experience in dance in various styles including classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and tap. Lauren’s passion and commitment for dance, as well as her own injuries has allowed her to find an interest in Myotherapy and how the human body moves and functions.

With Lauren’s strong dance history she has a passion for treating dancers and believes injuries acquired through dance require specific assessment and individual rehab programs to ensure the safe return to practice. By providing appropriate hands on treatment and addressing the technical faults that may have contributed to the injury, Lauren’s aim is to ensure the dancer is stronger than they were before the injury occurred to prevent the injury from reoccurring.

Lauren acknowledges that all bodies are different and that every individual is different. Her strengths are in treating musculoskeletal conditions affecting postural imbalances, lower limb conditions, cervical neck issues and headaches. Lauren places an emphasis on developing pain-free range of movement using different techniques along with dry needling and correct exercises where appropriate to correct each patient’s imbalances and maintain the patients best alignment, pain reduction and increased mobility.
